Our Story and Vision
Run by volunteers and donations, we have been a music and art venue in downtown Dixon, Illinois since 2011. What started as a group of friends and musicians wanting and needing a place to come together to make music, has morphed into a community staple hosting hundreds of open mics giving many the opportunity to perform on a stage for the first time. Besides our all ages shows of local, regional, national and even internationally touring bands, we have supported many visual artists and artisans providing a place to display and sell their art.
2024 was a big year for us. We were granted our 501(c)(3) status by the IRS and we also lost the space we had co-created so many magical community gatherings in. The good news is that we are more determined than ever to continue providing this invaluable community service and have big plans to expand our offerings! We are currently in the process of purchasing a space in downtown Dixon that will be the perfect home for Rosbrook! Within this new space we hope to, in partnership with our community as well as grants, expand to offer programs like these in our community:
*Music and arts based after school programs and homeschool music programs
*Community Choir(s) and group singing events-Adult and children's
*Music workshops in various subject and ability levels - special occasion and ongoing
*Supporting our local public school music programs and studios with collaborations
*Visual arts classes
*Rotating Artist in Residence
*Music store
*Folk and Fine Art Consignment store
*Rentals for special events/practice space for bands
*The possibilities are endless!
